As part of preparing the concept of “good practices” we researched in the fashion market in the project countries in search of eco-friendly and sustainable clothes, collections, brands that create only environmental- friendly, vegan and/or recyclable garments. It was surprising and pretty much amazing how many people and companies are involved in above mentioned trend. We got in touch with many companies and people who create their brands with care about the environment. As responsible people, we need to take responsibility for our daily choices. Commit to buying less, limit your outfits per day, and invest in pieces that last longer. We have learnt to do the research while going shopping, to pay close attention to how brands use the term “transparency.” Do they really mean it and prove it? Does the brand take initiatives with the fabrics used? Are they committed to ethical/sustainable practices? It’s easy to forget the impact of a purchase or the power you have as a consumer. There are small steps we can take each day to pave the path toward a more sustainable fashion future.
In course of the research for good practice examples, the Italian partner, Jonathan Cooperativa Sociale, interviewd Sara Francesca Lisot, co-founder and CEO of VIC – Very Important Choice. VIC is an innovative start-up with the mission of increasing the diffusion of ethical and sustainable fashion in Italy and Europe with innovative circular economy, transparency and digitisation services to support independent brands and visionary artisans. Enjoy the interview! 🙂
