Young people 4 future
After the current developments in youth culture there can be no more talk of an “apolitical youth”, as it was their reputation for a long time. Especially through the worldwide movement “Fridays for Future” and the Europe-wide protests against upload filters the political interest of young people became obvious. They care about the future of our planet and many young people are willing to change their lifestyle in order to give the environment a chance to relax and stay intact for a long time to come. However, many young people still don’t know what to change. We are building on this positive development and in this project we are launching an action-oriented awareness campaign on the subject of sustainable and plastic-free fashion.
In this project we expect young people to:
- acquire the knowledge necessary to increase their awareness of fast fashion and the inherent microplastic problem.
- develop alternatives for action that offer attractive alternatives to their buying behaviour and are applicable to their reality of life and their daily handling of fashion.
- develop their personal attitude towards the fast fashion culture, which is currently ubiquitous and is becoming ever faster, and to carry it out into the world via their peers.
If young people today change their personal attitude to fast fashion and their buying behaviour of clothes only a little bit, this can already have big positive effects on tomorrow. We don’t want to claim that you can save the world with very little effort. Nevertheless, we see awareness campaigns among the generation of the future as an adequate and promising means of initiating changes in society.
